Body Concerns
Skin concerns don't stop at the face. Whether it's texture, stubborn areas, or conditions that affect your confidence in your body, we treat body skin with the same care and expertise.
What's actually happening
Body skin faces different challenges than facial skin — it's thicker in some areas, thinner in others, and subject to friction, clothing, and different environmental stresses. Many people forget that the principles of good skin care apply below the neck too.
We address body concerns with the same thorough, evidence-based approach we bring to facial treatments.
Common body skin concerns
Cellulite — The dimpled appearance on thighs, buttocks, and sometimes arms. Affects 80-90% of women at some point. It's not a weight issue — it's about how fat is structured under the skin, influenced by genetics, hormones, and circulation.
Body acne — Breakouts on the back, chest, shoulders, or buttocks. Often caused by occlusion (tight clothing, sweat), hormones, or similar factors to facial acne.
Ingrown hairs and folliculitis — Bumps and inflammation where hair follicles become trapped or infected. Common in areas of shaving, waxing, or friction.
Stretch marks — Scars that form when skin stretches rapidly. Common after pregnancy, growth spurts, or weight changes. Appearance can be improved, especially when newer.
Uneven texture — Rough, bumpy, or keratotic skin on arms, thighs, or other areas.
Scarring — Body scars from surgery, injury, or acne respond to similar treatments as facial scarring.
Why body skin is different
Body skin varies significantly by area:
- Thicker in some places — back, legs
- Thinner and more delicate in others — inner arms, chest
- More prone to friction — thighs, underarms
- Exposed to different conditions — clothing, less sun (usually), different product exposure
Treatment approaches need to account for these differences.
The factors at play
Circulation — Cellulite, in particular, is influenced by blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
Hormones — Body acne and cellulite both have hormonal components.
Friction and occlusion — Tight clothing, synthetic fabrics, and sweat contribute to body breakouts.
Genetics — Cellulite formation, scar formation, and skin texture have strong genetic components.
Lifestyle — Movement, hydration, and diet all affect body skin.
How Eden approaches body concerns
Body treatments at Eden follow the same philosophy as our facial work: understand the concern, address the underlying factors, and create sustainable improvement over time.

Learn moreWhat to expect
Timelines vary depending on the concern:
Body acne: Similar to facial acne — expect several months for lasting improvement.
Cellulite: Visible improvement typically requires a series of treatments. Maintenance is usually needed to sustain results.
Stretch marks: Newer (red/purple) marks respond better than older (white/silver) ones. Multiple needling sessions over months.
Ingrown hairs: IPL hair removal requires 6-8+ sessions, but each treatment reduces the problem.
Scarring: Similar to facial scarring — gradual improvement over 6-12 months.
The home care factor
Body skin care often gets neglected. Simple changes can make a significant difference:
Body exfoliation — Regular gentle exfoliation helps with texture and prevents ingrown hairs.
Moisturisation — Dry body skin contributes to many concerns. Consistent moisturising helps.
Movement — Exercise improves circulation, which benefits cellulite and overall skin health.
Clothing choices — Breathable fabrics reduce body acne. Looser clothing reduces friction.
We'll recommend specific products where they'll help.
Is this you?
You might benefit from body treatments if...
- You're self-conscious about cellulite on your thighs, buttocks, or arms
- Body acne on your back, chest, or shoulders is bothering you
- Ingrown hairs are a constant problem in bikini, underarm, or leg areas
- Stretch marks from pregnancy, growth, or weight changes are visible
- Bumpy texture on your arms or legs (keratosis pilaris) won't improve with products
- Body scarring from surgery, injury, or acne affects your confidence
- You've tried body treatments elsewhere without results
I feel embarrassed about my body skin. I want someone who treats it as seriously as they'd treat my face.
There are so many 'cellulite cures' out there. I want to know what actually works and what's just marketing.
